As Australia recently celebrated the achievements of our Paralympians competing in France, we take pride in acknowledging our own Alumni and Paralympian Champion, Taylor Corry.
Taylor Corry graduated from St Philips Christian College Port Stephens in 2013 and is currently a S14 classification Paralympian swimmer. Despite not qualifying for the 2024 Paralympics, Taylor has had great success in her swimming career, including winning two silver medals at the 2012 London Paralympics in the women's 200m freestyle S14 and women's 100m backstroke S14 events.
Taylor recently took the time to speak to our Senior School students, inspiring both current students and staff. She recalled her favourite memory from her time at the College, emphasizing the incredible support from her teachers and the close friends she cherished. She particularly mentioned her Year 2 teacher for the extra support provided due to her learning disability. The best advice she received was to focus on herself, ignore the bullies, and always believe in her dreams.
We thank Taylor for sharing her journey and invite other Alumni to reconnect with the College.
If you are an Alumni and would like to reconnect with the College, we would love to hear from you. PortStephens.Alumni@spcc.nsw.edu.au
